Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is important to the School of Government and International Affairs and our EDI committee promotes best practice across the department. The membership includes representatives from all sections of the department.

Important initiatives undertaken by the school include active engagement with our First Generation Scholars Group, engaging our local promoting community with Widening Participation initiatives and in 2015 the Department was awarded an Athena Swan award.

Gender and Diversity in the SGIA Curriculum

Students and staff at SGIA have been engaged in a project to assess gender and diversity in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum.

Radhakashin Scholarship Programme

In SGIA, we currently award four Radhakashin Scholarships each year to disadvantaged under-represented students to support them and their studies.

Here at the SGIA, we are passionate about engaging with our community and actively seeking to play a role in furthering local causes.
