The Fellowship was an amazing and life changing experience. It has been a sheer pleasure. The supported, open time to work and write, the perfect balance of obligations and freedom, the invitation to join conferences here at Durham and to meet faculty with similar interests, and to engage with the other fellows, has been just spectacular. I feel inspired, renewed, and excited about the projects I’ve incubated here.

Fellowships and Funding
IAS Fellowships are offered both to established, globally-recognised scholars and earlier career researchers of outstanding promise. Usually, each academic year the IAS will communicate a call for Fellows, either through its Major Project call (ca. November each year), as well as an open Fellowship call later in the year (ca. April).
In addition to the IAS Fellowship, the IAS administers the Addison Wheeler Fellowship which runs every three years for early career researchers. The next recruitment phase will commence in 2025/26 for Fellowships commencing in 2026/27.
