The workshop will cover both storytelling and technical issues, each of which will cover the fundamentals while providing guidance on their next steps. The course will be a combination of taught sessions and practical implementation of the skills. Through the course of the sessions, you will produce a short film and receive feedback on your project. The workshop does not assume any previous knowledge in filmmaking but will still be of interest to people who have already started on their filmmaking journey. The workshop is open to everyone interesting in telling their story about Exploring Risk. The dates for the course sessions are: 4th April 2022 10am to 1pm – Session 1: Becoming a Digital Storyteller, on-demand video 8th April 2022 10am to 1pm – Session 2: Planning & Visualising Your Story, online interactive session 8th April 2022 10am to 1pm – Session 3: Making your Digital Story: production, on-demand video series 14th April 2022 – Showcasing your Digital Story, online interactive session On completion of the course and your digital story, you will have the opportunity to share your video on this website and with wider audiences via video sharing sites, such as YouTube and Vimeo. You will also have the opportunity to present your work at the next Exploring Risk Film Festival at Durham University, organised and presented by the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience.
