BGA announces Geo-Resilience 2023 conference

The Geo-Resilience 2023 conference is being organised by the British Geotechnical Association (BGA) and will take place in Cardiff on 28th and 29th March 2023. Professor David Toll, Co-Director of IHRR, is the Conference Chair for this important conference on Resilience of the built and natural environment affected by Geo-hazards.

SCIMAP User Group Meetings 2022

The 2022 SCIMAP User Group Meeting will take place on the 20th September 2022. At this event, we want to hear about how you have been using SCIMAP and we will also provide some training on the new SCIMAP-Flood approach. The workshop meeting aims to increase the connectivity of the SCIMAP user community and provide a forum for sharing knowledge and approach to tackling diffuse pollution and mitigating flood hazards with NFM and nature-based solutions.

SCIMAP-Flood tool release

The aim of SCIMAP-Flood is to help with the prioritisation of natural flood risk management or nature-based solutions within the catchment to increase their effectiveness. The tool identifies the origin of the water that contributes to the flood peaks within the catchment since mitigation actions in these locations will be more effective.

To celebrate the tenth year of the RENKEI network, we are delivering a fellowship programme and Winter School for Early Career Researchers (ECR), which will engage a range of disciplines within five climate-focused themes. The programme will enable UK/Japanese collaborations that advance cutting-edge research into climate adaptation and resilience, and facilitate national and international policy engagement and impact.
