Live Well & Dance with Parkinson’s Online Dance tutorial

Are you an individual or group living with Parkinson’s? Are you looking to take part in dance activity? We invite you to participate in our mass dance participation for Hadrian’s Wall 1900 Festival. This activity has been developed for people living with Parkinson’s & their companions as a way of bringing communities together, and creating more opportunities to experience the joy of dance, explore and have fun! 

What? LW&DwP will provide each participant/group with access to an online dance tutorial that you can use at home or in your group sessions. This video will guide you through a carefully designed dance routine by our project dance leaders that can be performed seated or standing. Participants can practice their routine as much as they want in order to prepare to all come together at locations across Hadrians wall.

Or Are you a person or companion of someone living with Parkinson’s? Are you looking to take part in dance activity and have the opportunity to perform? Sign up to our new dance performance class created through the Live Well and Dance with Parkinson’s project. This group will be assembled especially to create a new dance piece to be performed at Hadrian’s Wall 1900 Festival. If you are looking for more opportunities to experience the joy of dance, explore and have fun… then this class is for you!

What? The LW&DwP performance group will work with a specially commissioned choreographer to create a dance piece over 12 weeks. Supported by local dance with Parkinson’s specialists, this group will meet weekly, culminating in a performance at The Sill, National Landscape Discovery Centre in July (date tbc).
