Parkinson’s is the world’s fastest growing neurological condition, and a significant health challenge. This scheme is designed to connect student volunteers with local people living with Parkinson’s to both offer emotional support and gain a greater understanding of the condition.
Volunteers will regularly engage in friendly conversation through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, emails or written letters and have the opportunity to get involved with Parkinson’s UK charity events. This scheme is a brilliant way to briefly escape from the ‘Durham Bubble’, form valuable bonds with new people and learn more about living with Parkinson’s.
