Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing Fellow, Balbir Singh Dance Company (BSDC) has developed an exciting new partnership with Durham University (Artist in Resident, Hatfield college, 2023-2024).

Unmasking Pain has brought together the worlds of Arts and Health through Creative Treatments in exploring new vocabularies of expression for people with persistent pain. Building on this, and with a Health, Science and Environmental focus, we are planning an exciting year long programme of activity through the partnership with Hatfield College, and Professor Paul Chazot (WRIHW Pain Challenge Academy lead). With high profile works such as Unmasking Pain and Cricket Green, there will be valuable up-skilling, shadowing opportunities and hands-on experience available for students. At the heart of the project is resilience, health and wellbeing for students and staff.

Volunteer placements will include: Dance, Digital Marketing, Events Management, Environmental Awareness, Music, Research methods
