Appointment of Revd Canon Smitha Prasadam as Bishop of Huddersfield

Downing Street announced today that the Revd Canon Smitha Prasadam, currently Chaplain of St Albans, Copenhagen, and member of College Council, will take up the role of Bishop of Huddersfield.

In Memoriam: Professor Tom McLeish FRS

It is with great sadness that the College heard of the death of Professor Tom McLeish. Tom was for many years a great friend to the College and long time co-investigator on our Equipping Christian Leadership in an Age of Science (ECLAS) project. Tom founded the project with the Principal and contributed wisdom, boundless energy and a passion which celebrated both science and Christian faith.

ECLAS receives £6M grant for global outreach

The Equipping Christian Leadership in an Age of Science project at St John’s has been awarded a five-year, £6.2million grant to support bishops and senior Christian leaders worldwide to engage with science.

St John’s Student to present Chemistry Research in Parliament

Rob Ives, a current St John’s PhD student, has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious STEM for BRITAIN competition where he will present his scientific research in the field of chemistry in Parliament.

Death of Ann Loades

The College was saddened to hear of the death in December of Professor Ann Loades CBE who was an Honorary Professorial Fellow at St Chad’s and Professor Emerita of Divinity here at the University.

An Announcement from Principal David Wilkinson

David Wilkinson will be leaving his role as Principal of St John's College from August 2023. After 16 years, it seems now is the right time to move on. Having got through many of the challenges of the pandemic, the College will benefit from fresh leadership which sees new opportunities and challenges.
