Student wearing sea survival gear in the water

Two Durham geophysics undergraduates, have successfully completed a sea survival training course.

Two Durham geophysics undergraduates, Tom O'Hara and Adam Young, have successfully completed a sea survival training course ready for a NERC-funded internship in the Department over the summer. During this unique opportunity, they will be trained by our Ocean-Bottom Instrumentation Facility as seabed instrumentation engineers and take part in a real research cruise deploying those instruments offshore southern Ireland at the Goban Spur in July. Tom and Adam have already successfully passed their ENG1 seafarer's medicals. Well done Tom and Adam!
