A one-day workshop at the Instituto Cervantes HQs in Madrid, hosted by Prof Santiago Fouz Hernández (MLAC Durham) and Dr Esther Gimeno Ugalde (University of Vienna). Participants include colleagues from the USA and several European universities who initiated online (or hybrid) projects and fora in Iberian Studies during the pandemic: Polibéricos (U. Évora), CISCO (U. Copenhagen), Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival, or New Books Network en español among others. Respondent: Prof Txetxu Aguado (Dartmouth College).
A report of this workshop will be published in a journal and disseminated through the Pleibéricos network and social media also in other formats such as audio podcast (@pleibericos on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter).
Since its launch in June 2020, Pleibéricos has launched over 80 books in Iberian Studies either as part of the round-table type of live events via YouTube live (and on streaming) or through pre-recorded videos, which are then uploaded to YouTube, Instagram and also published as audio podcasts. in 2021 Pleibéricos launched a second podcast channel (Estudios Ibéricos) in collaboration with New Books Network en español. All our events and book launches are either in Catalan, Euskera, Galician, Portuguese or Spanish.
