MUSICON: a thousand regretz: renaissance & modern melancholy | Ben Smith

Pianist Ben Smith presents a beautiful and ingenious programme, featuring keyboard works from the Renaissance alongside contemporary music for solo piano. Separated by a period of 400 years or more, the composers of these works explore contrasting and comparable notions of melancholy, as emotional expression and creative inspiration.

Book Launch: Ixion: Morton Feldman, Notation, Performance Practice and Jackson Pollock

Accelerating Digital Skills for Music Researchers

A team of researchers at Durham University and University of Birmingham are leading the AHRC-funded project “Accelerating embedded computational analysis of Web data about music in UK universities” (AH/X007316/1), which is currently piloting a new digital skills training programme for music researchers, training approximately 60 UK-based researchers at a variety of digital skill levels and representing various career stages in topics relevant to using Web data as a primary source.
