You'll get an insight into how this world works and the varying roles within it, with the main opportunity being to hear about and learn from the experiences of graduates from Durham and beyond who are making a life for themselves in this broad field.

The session will be online using Zoom (I’ll provide the link nearer the time to all signing up) and is being provided by the Careers & Enterprise team with the support of Megan and David in Music Durham.

It will be an informal session following a format as follows:

  1. Brief introduction to the session from Chris (Careers & Enterprise Centre) and Megan/David (Music Durham).
  2. Brief introduction of and from each of our guests about their current role and very briefly how they have got to where they are now. We’ll ask each of you “What do you know now that you wish you’d known when you started on your working life?”
  3. The bulk of the session will be Q&A and this should give you the chance to ask the questions you really need the answers to.  This could include hints and tips and direct advice on how to make progress in, or enter the field.
  4. Conclusion – final inputs from each guest if time allows covering points they’d like to get across. We’ll also signpost any other interesting sessions that might be coming up here at Durham.
  5. Thanks and goodbye!

Even if you have a fleeting interest in the world of music, this session is not to be missed!
