JC Gaillard seminar online seminar, 22nd June 2022, 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Join the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience for a one-off online seminar with Professor JC Gaillard. Professor Gaillard will be giving a seminar surrounding his new book ‘The Invention of Disaster: Power and Knowledge in Discourses on Hazard and Vulnerability’. The seminar will be followed by a group reading tutorial and drinks reception on 30th June 2022 from 2pm to 4:30pm.

Dr Angelos Theocharis: Red River Delta trip, Vietnam
Dr Angelos Theocharis (Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience, Durham University, and the UKRI GCRF Living Deltas Hub) recently organised a five day mobile filmmaking workshop at the Red River Delta in Vietnam as part of his research project "Community Digital Storytelling and Delta Futures” (CDST).
Christopher Moyes Memorial Foundation funding
The Christopher Moyes Memorial Foundation was established in 2006 by Jan Moyes, in memory of Christopher Moyes who died in 2006. Christopher was a founder of the Go-Ahead transport group, chair of Durham University council, deputy lieutenant of the County of Durham and a great family man. Chris was widely respected as a quiet, effective leader who believed in making a difference.
