Digital Advertising

With so much recruitment activity taking place virtually, digital marketing of your organisation, events and opportunities is more important than ever when it comes to brand awareness and attracting applications from students.

The number of events and opportunities available to students virtually has increased significantly during the pandemic, and while all vacancies and employer activity is available to students on the Careers Portal, email or digital advertising is a really useful way to make you stand out from the crowd.

You can advertise in our weekly email bulletins, via social media and directly on the home page of the Student Services Portal itself. See the below options for more information. Please note we are not able to offer a targeted email or "mailshot" service to employers.

Digital Marketing Package

Our marketing package is a great way to raise the profile of your organisation and/or event and help you to recruit the best talent.

The marketing package consists of:

  • An advert on the home page of the Careers Portal where students search for vacancies and events (duration one week)
  • Two social media posts across Facebook and Instagram (four posts in total)

The cost of this package is £165 plus VAT and availability is limited to one package each week. To book this package, please complete the Digital Marketing booking form.

Email Advertising

Our faculty-focused Events & Vacancies Bulletins are emailed to all current students each Tuesday and Thursday respectively during term time, featuring information about careers events taking place the following week, and graduate and work experience opportunities of interest to Durham students. Vacancy Bulletins are also sent during vacation periods. Bulletins contain links to our Events Calendar and Vacancies Portal where students can book events or apply directly for vacancies.

Many employers choose to make use of the bulletins to highlight their recruitment activity, ensuring students don't miss a chance to attend or apply.

There are two options for enhanced email advertising:

Featured Employer Advert

Targeted events and vacancies emails are sent to each of our four faculties; Sciences, Business School, Social Sciences, and Arts & Humanities. You can choose to target one or multiple faculties with your featured advert; please see pricing options and a guide to faculty sizes below.

There will be one Featured Employer Advert per Bulletin; your advert will appear first in the email and your organisation's logo will feature prominently. There is a 75 word limit for the event or vacancy description.

The charge for a Featured Employer Advert are as follows. All prices are exclusive of VAT.

Standard Employer Advert

There is no limit on the number of Standard Employer Adverts per Bulletin; each Standard Employer Advert will have an individual heading including your organisation's name and logo, with a 40 word limit to the event or vacancy description. Standard employer adverts will be placed in all relevant faculty-focused bulletins.

The charge for a Standard Employer Advert is £95 plus VAT.
