At the current rate of change, the window to regulate AI effectively may be closing. How should we respond?

Tony Maile is VP, Global Growth at PS AI Labs.He specialises in working with senior teams in a variety of organisations to apply Artificial Intelligence solutions to drive their business forward in new ways. An industry insider, he brings on-the-ground understanding of the transformative potential of AI.
Tim Rideout is UK General Manager at Babylon, a company using AI innovations to put accessible and affordable healthcare in the hands of the widest possible range of people.With five years' experience working at the interface of health and artificial intelligence, he brings a unique perspective to the discussion.
James Crooks joined Durham University as Chief Information Officer in February 2023. He has over 20 years’ experience in technology leadership roles across Higher Education, Financial Services, and UK Government.
Dr Kerry McInerney is a Research Associate at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence at the University of Cambridge, where she researches AI from the perspective of gender studies, critical race theory, and Asian diaspora studies.
Critical Conversations
Van Mildert College hosts a series of discussion events to challenge ideas and discuss big questions.
Panellists include students, staff and subject specialists. They open the discussion by speaking for 5 minutes about the topic. After that conversation flows freely across the panel and the audience.
The events are open spaces for conversation and ideas to breathe and flourish. Discussion is given space and encouragement, diversity of ideas is welcomed freely. No objective or answer is sought – the goal is to provoke thought.
