Catering

Catering at Van Mildert is organised centrally through the University so is the same format as other colleges. However, at Van Mildert we have a regular feedback system between the students and the catering staff to continuously improve meal quality, allowing the College to strive to cater for the wants and needs of its student body.

Undergraduate and postgraduate rental agreements when living in College include full board catering with three meals a day during term time. During vacations, students may purchase individuals meals from the servery (if available). Postgraduates may also cater for themselves using the kitchens in Deerness block.

Typical meals served during term time include:

  • A cooked or continental breakfast during the week
  • Brunch on the weekends
  • A selection of sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, hot mains and desserts at lunchtime
  • Hot mains with vegetables, soup, bread and cakes during the evenings

Male and female students sit at long tables, eating and socialising. The dining hall is brightly lit, with high ceiling and large windowstbc
