Congratulations on your offer, we are looking forward to welcoming you to our vibrant College community soon! Further information about the pre-arrival process and who to contact can be found here.
Welcome to Van Mildert College! Congratulations on your remarkable and well-deserved achievement. You are joining one of the world’s best universities and a very active, caring and open college community. We are excited to welcome you.
The 2021 intake of 'Mildertians' will include students from around the world and your studies at Durham University will be complemented by your involvement in musical, sporting or other extra-curricular opportunities. At Durham University, we call this vital part of your time with us the 'wider student experience' and we hope that you will make the most of the opportunities available by getting involved in at least one enrichment activity (but most likely many more!). Now is the time to start thinking about how you will contribute to College life and make the most of your wider student experience. Whether you are a new undergraduate or postgraduate, there are so many opportunities available to try something new or develop a long standing interest.
At Van Mildert College we pride ourselves on the creativity, diversity and enthusiasm of our students and support the development of a community built on mutual respect in which everyone can flourish in their own way. This year, we will be welcoming you to Durham at a time of both optimism and uncertainty as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve. However, we will continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all of our students and staff and we feel confident that your student experience in Durham will be hugely fulfilling.
The student support team at Van Mildert College will be in contact with you via email very soon after your place with us is confirmed. They will send all new students, undergraduate and postgraduate, an email containing an important link to our pre-arrival check list which you must complete as a priority. If you have any questions about this you should contact the team using the email addresses below.
With warmest wishes,
Dr Victoria Brown
Deputy Principal, Van Mildert College
