Someone digging, with a bucket full of soil next to them

Our Department of Archaeology accredited degrees have been renewed for a further five years by the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) and University Archaeology UK (UAUK).

Our students receive career-building practical and professional archaeological training throughout their degree. We are delighted that this has once again been recognised via this accreditation.

Our accredited courses

Amongst other factors, the re-accreditation panel particularly praised our Work Placement module. This module allows our students to engage at a professional level and gain invaluable experience.

Built-in access to CIfA's networks and resources

Student membership of CIfA is offered to all students enrolled on an accredited programme. Student members will have access to:

  • CIfA’s e-learning modules
  • Specialist professional networks through CIfA’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
  • The Archaeologist magazine
  • Jobs Information Service bulletins

Students will automatically join CIfA's New Generation SIG, aimed at early career archaeologists. They will also be added to CIfA's Professional Pathways mailing list.
