Thomas Schmitz is a Professor of Greek at the Universität Bonn. He is one of the founding members of the Bonn Centre for the Classical Tradition and member of the trinational graduate school “European Foundation Myths,” which is organized by the universities of Florence, Paris-Sorbonne, and Bonn. His research interests include Greek Poetry, the Second Sophistic, and the reception of ancient texts, including through the application of literary theory.
