Durham historian wins Gladstone Prize 2021

Dr Tom Stammers has been awarded the RHS's Gladstone Prize 2021 for his book on the culture of collecting in post-revolutionary Paris

Dr Stammers' book, The Purchase of the Past: Collecting Culture in Post-Revolutionary Paris, c.1790-1890, was awarded the prestigious prize by the Royal Historical Society, having been nominated in May.

The Gladstone Prize is awarded for works on non-British/Irish history, and is one of two prizes awarded each year by the Royal Historical Society.
