The School is delighted to announce that former PhD student Dr. Matthew Hilborn, currently a postdoctoral research associate at King’s College, London, has been chosen by the Association of Hispanists of Great Britain and Ireland as one of the winners of the AHGBI Publication Prize for 2022-2023.
This award, which involves full publication with leading press Legenda (Oxford), is awarded to the two most distinguished doctoral theses in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Studies submitted and approved in the UK and Ireland in 2021-2022.
Matthew’s thesis on humour in contemporary Spanish cinema was supervised by Prof Santiago Fouz Hernández and Prof Mike Thompson.
