BSI Grant Writing Support
New for 2023, we are introducing a raft of activities to better support our community in writing excellent interdisciplinary funding applications.
Grant Writing Working Groups
Our new Writing Groups will bring together 5-6 academics to discuss the grant applications that they are developing. They will comprise a carefully managed balance of academics from across career stages and disciplines, providing high quality peer review and support. Each group will meet regularly for a period of 4 months and are expected to commit to producing a grant application by the end of the four months. The draft applications will then be reviewed by mock panels convened by the BSI based on the funding source being targeted.

BSI Writing Room
Starting on Tuesday the 10 October 2023, the BSI will host weekly Writing Room sessions. These are open sessions where people working on interdisciplinary biosciences research can come to write in a peaceful setting away from the distractions of their office and laboratories. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits available and once per month there will be an information session on a specific topic.
