Junior Common Room
The JCR (Junior Common Room) is the undergraduate community in John Snow College. Life at John Snow is lively and vibrant thanks to all the activities available through the JCR: with sports teams, student societies and arts groups; there is something for everyone.
Our JCR work closely with College staff to ensure that our students have the opportunity to engage in a broad range of academic and recreational activities outside of the lecture and seminar rooms and are determined to provide the wider student experience to all our students. We hope you decide to join us at this exciting time in our College development.
Getting involved in the JCR and student life in general is one of the most enjoyable aspects of being a member of John Snow College and a member of Durham University. As well as being great fun and a great way to meet new people, it is also a great way to develop as a person and build your CV. The JCR is entirely self-governed, run by a committee of elected student officers.
