Student Support and Wellbeing

Your happiness, personal safety and mental and physical health are so important to us. We provide a first class student support service, with dedicated staff, to help you with any problems you may face.

The Vice Principal (VP), alongside the Assistant Principal (AP) are responsible for overseeing all pastoral and welfare matters within College.

If you need to discuss any matters which are affecting your academic studies such as personal, financial and/or medical issues, then you can make an appointment or take advantage of our drop-in service during normal working hours. We also have 24/7 welfare cover and security. In the event of a welfare emergency, Security will contact the College Officer (Principal, VP or AP) on the emergency rota.

University-wide Support Services

The University Counselling Service offers a quiet and confidential place with trained counsellors to help students work through difficulties.

The Students' Union (DSU) has a dedicated advice centre that offers free advice on finance and student funding, and academic, personal and employment issues.

Nightline is an anonymous, non-directive and non-judgemental support service set up and run by students for students. As well as someone to listen, it also provides pregnancy testing, condoms and loan of attack alarms.

Welfare Wednesdays

Throughout each term we hold a number of Welfare Wednesday sessions where students can gather today and complete fun activities such as arts & crafts, food tasting, board games and a variety of global-themed entertainment.
