Renewable Energy Research Group

Decarbonising energy is one of the most pressing challenges facing the world today. In the UK, efforts are underway to transition to a net-zero emissions economy by 2050, which involves a significant shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.

This transition, known as the energy transition, requires not only technological innovation but also societal participation to succeed. Renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and geothermal are key to this strategy, offering cleaner, more sustainable forms of energy that can help reduce the country's carbon footprint and enhance energy security.
