The Venerable Ron Hesketh CB 1965-1968
I am delighted to have the opportunity to keep in contact with the Department as I feel I owe so much to Durham for the direction of my life from then onwards. I am not sure what I can offer at my age except a lot of interesting experience! The span of my career took in 31yrs in the RAF rising to the rank of Air Vice Marshal and then on to the Police and St John Ambulance, all in my capacity as a chaplain. Although now in my early 70's I am still an active priest and chair of governors at a local school. My grounding in Durham and in geography has served me well.
I am still in contact with other alumni from my years at Bede, one of whom is a geographer and lives in New Zealand.
