  • Important Visa Information: Students applying for Canadian study permits will be required to travel to London to complete a bio metrics register. The High Commission in London has advised that the minimum time for turn around of visa's is two months. For more information click here.

Location

UBC has two stunning campuses: one in Vancouver and a second in Kelowna called the Okanagan Campus. Both campuses offer excellent student opportunities for students, with the latter having scenic lake vistas, vineyards and a dry, mild climate. If you wish to study in Okanagan, please specify UBC-O on your application form, otherwise it will be assumed that you are applying to Vancouver. The Durham application process does not discriminate between choosing one campus or the other and you should not choose both as two out of your three application choices.

  • Spring semester: 1 September

Some programmes at UBC Vancouver have restrictions or are limited. Please check the faculty-specific restrictions

 

Language Requirements

The language of instruction at UBC is English. If you are a non native English speaker, you may be required to provide evidence of language ability.

 

Accommodation

Housing is available but spaces are very limited. Students should seriously consider the possibility that they will need to live off campus. Students are not guaranteed to be allocated on campus accommodation. Please visit UBC's Living Off Campus webpages for more information.

UBC have a great range of support available including medical assistance, academic support, everyday advice, mental health support.

 

Summer Opportunities

UBC offers a number of fee paying Summer Opportunities. The packaged fee per student would be $4500 CAD and includes accommodation, course materials, social activities, medical insurance, access to 2 courses and much more. Please see the UBC Vancouver Summer Program webpages for more information.

NB- the International Office would only be able to offer advice on summer programmes, students are responsible for paying for the programme.

 

Other Information

  • Estimated costs of a year at UBC would be $6-8000 per term.
  • Accommodation with meal plan would be roughly $8500 per year.
  • Students are required to purchase iMED health insurance for international students. This is compulsory and costs around $180.
