Common Awards Entry Requirements

Normally a minimum of one A-level or equivalent. 

However, for mature students, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal academic qualifications.

Normally a minimum of three A-levels or equivalent 

Graduates in other subjects may enter the BA programme. 

Students who have completed successfully the Common Awards Diploma in Theology, Ministry and Mission may be admitted to Level 6 of the BA programme.

Graduate Certificate in Theology, Ministry and Mission (V60421) 

Normally an upper second class Honours degree or equivalent.   

Graduates in other subjects may enter the Graduate Certificate programme.  

In addition, students who do not have a degree but are able to demonstrate their ability to undertake theological study at degree level will be considered for admission. Students may be required to undertake some prior personal study before embarking on the programme to demonstrate this.

Graduate Diploma in Theology, Ministry and Mission (V60422) 

Normally an upper second class Honours degree or equivalent  

Graduates in other subjects and students who have successfully completed a Diploma (HE) in theology may enter the Graduate Diploma programme.  

For non-theology graduates, normally students should have an upper second class Honours degree.  

However, especially for mature students, prior professional experience will be taken into account as well as educational qualifications.

Postgraduate Certificate in Theology, Ministry and Mission (V60414) 

Normally an upper second class Honours degree or equivalent in a subject relevant to the proposed course of study. 

Normally students will need a good degree (or other Level 6 qualification, such as a Graduate Diploma) in theology. 

Graduates (classed as first-class or 2:1 Honours) in other disciplines with experience of Theology or Religious Studies to at least FHEQ Level 4 (undergraduate Certificate level, awarded with credit or distinction, or with an overall mark of at least 60%) may also be admitted to the programme.  

However, especially for mature students, prior professional experience will be taken into account as well as educational qualifications. 

Given its professional development orientation, students are likely to be preparing for a ministerial or related vocation or be actively engaged in such a profession.

Normally an upper second class Honours degree or equivalent in a subject relevant to the proposed course of study.  

Normally students will need a good degree (or other level 6 qualification, such as a Graduate Diploma) in theology, although graduates (classed as first-class or 2:1 honours) in other disciplines with experience of Theology or Religious Studies to at least undergraduate Certificate level (awarded with merit or distinction, or with an overall mark of at least 60%) may also be admitted to the programme.  

However, especially for mature students, prior professional experience will be taken into account as well as educational qualifications.
