Support for Students during Examinations

Regarding Examination Paper Content 

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they answer the correct examination paper. If, however, there are two papers bearing similar titles in the room, the Invigilator can confirm that the student is completing the correct paper by referring to the attendance list. 

The Chair of the TEI’s Board of Examiners is responsible for ensuring that appropriate member(s) of academic staff are available by telephone for the duration of each examination in case clarification is required on any issues raised. 

Should any issues arise, TEIs are expected to: 

1. ensure that appropriate action is taken in relation to all students taking the assessment, e.g. those taking the examination in a separate room; 
2. report the action immediately to the Chair of the TEI’s Board of Examiners for communication to internal markers and, where appropriate, external examiner(s); 
3. produce and retain a formal written record of the action taken.
