Listening, Learning, Changing: Faculty Development for the Multi-ethnic Classroom

Alan Gregory, St Augustine’s College of Theology

Initial Description

‘Listening, Learning, Changing’ is a year-long project that will pair Black and Asian church leaders and scholars in theological education with members of the college’s permanent staff. Mentor and staff-member will engage in conversations designed to help the staff member revise both pedagogy and syllabus content in the light of a mutual exploration of the opportunities opened by the multi-ethnic classroom. The conversation partners will also investigate together the theological rationale for the project’s educational goals. In addition to the individual conversations, the project participants will attend a plenary session at the beginning and end of the year.
