Dr Chunxiao Li

Professor Chunxiao Li, known as Lee, is a visiting scholar from the School of Physical Education and Sports Science, South China Normal University (SCNU), China. Lee is currently mentored by Professor Brett Smith from the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences, and will be with us in Durham until the end of January.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Dr Chunxiao Li, (known as Lee) who is a visiting scholar, mentored by Professor Brett Smith, Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences, Durham University. Concurrently, he is a professor at the School of Physical Education and Sports Science, South China Normal University (SCNU), China. Before joining SCNU, he was an assistant professor at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Lee’s research primarily focuses on the psychosocial aspects of adapted physical activity/education and talent development environment in sports. His research has been funded by several competitive grants (e.g., National Social Science Fund in China) and published in prestigious journals such as Journal of Sports Sciences and Psychology of Sport & Exercise.

Lee is an editorial board member of respected journals such as Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly and International Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology. He is the president of the Asian Society for Adapted Physical Education and Exercise, a member of the Expert Committee of China Disabled Sport, and a member of the Sport Psychology Branch of China Sport Science Society. He is looking forward to exchanging ideas and collaborating with members within the Department and beyond.
