Catholic Theology Research Seminar - Brian Casey
As FMDM Fellow in the History of Catholicism, Brian has been researching and writing the history of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood through the prism of the Franciscan tradition and global Catholicism.
Taking an interdisciplinary approach, his research explores the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood and its nineteenth century antecedents through the various prisms of Catholic internationalism, social movements, philanthropy, medical and sacred spaces and how their evolution and change impacted upon individual and community lives while remaining faithful to its Franciscan missionary approach.
This seminar forms part of the Catholic Theology Research Seminar Series (CTRS). The CTRS is a regular forum for scholarly discussion of pertinent issues in the Catholic traditions of theology and Church. The seminar series ranges across the traditional theological disciplines (scriptural, historical, philosophical, systematic, liturgical, ethical and practical/pastoral), Catholic social thought and practice, and social-scientific approaches to Catholicism.
Please note that details about registration for this online event will be sent out to our mailing lists three weeks in advance of the seminar.
