Helping us to issue your CAS

Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) Banner

All CAS are produced on a first-come, first-served basis depending on when you applied. Applicants who are ready for CAS first will be processed first, taking into consideration the course start date (unless you have extreme extenuating circumstances).

All applicants are treated equally to maintain a fair and transparent admissions service.

To make sure that your CAS is issued as quickly as possible you should make sure that you have:

  • Used the same name on your application as stated on your passport and qualifications
  • Provided evidence of your qualifications (except some undergraduate applicants where evidence is received through UCAS)
  • Provided translations of any documents not in English. This means that the original document must be accompanied by a translation provided by a professional translator

If you are an undergraduate applicant you must also have been allocated a College. If you initially choose Durham as your insurance offer, or you narrowly miss the conditions of your offer but are accepted anyway, your college allocation will be confirmed in August.

If you are a postgraduate applicant, you don’t need to have been allocated a College before your CAS is issued.

Please respond promptly to any correspondence you receive to avoid delays.
