If your course requires you to have clearance from the Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS), this will also be shown on your CAS. It’s your responsibility to apply for an ATAS certificate from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) online.
There is no charge for the application and your certificate will be emailed to you. You should allow at least one month for your ATAS application to be processed, although you should apply as early as possible as it could take longer during peak times.
When you receive your ATAS certificate, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office will also send a copy to us as confirmation that you have their permission to study your chosen subject.
