When will I get my CAS?

Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) Banner

Your CAS will be issued automatically by the University Admissions Team by email after you have received an unconditional offer, up to 5 months before the start of your course (depending on when you applied) and when you have:

  • No outstanding conditions
  • Paid the tuition fee deposit (if required)
  • Accepted a final unconditional offer for your course
  • Replied to the pre-CAS email to confirm that your details are correct

Once you’ve replied to the pre-CAS email, it normally takes up to 2-3 working days for your CAS to be issued, although it can take longer at peak times, particularly in August when the largest volume of undergraduate applicant results are received.

When can I use my CAS?

Your CAS will be valid for 6 months and if you’re applying for a Student visa outside the UK you can use it as soon as you receive it. If you’re applying in the UK you can apply up to a maximum of 3 months before the start of your course.

What if I change my mind?

If you decide not to use your CAS, or your situation changes in such a way that the information on your CAS needs to change, please contact us and let us know.
