Introduction to International Boundaries: Definition, Delimitation and Dispute Resolution
This online training course provides a simple, contextual overview of international boundaries and the practical measures that can be taken to resolve international boundary disputes. Through a series of short online lectures and a final practical exercise, the course explores the relevance of borders and looks at land and maritime boundary disputes, before covering methods available for dispute resolution.

Dr Jakob Rom is a visiting researcher from the Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Germany. He is holding a workshop which focuses on hands-on working with point cloud data using SAGA-LIS. On Writing Fiction and Francophone Literature by Michaël Ferrier
Author Michaël Ferrier will share his writing practices and his insights into Francophone literature, and read extracts from his prize-winning novel Mémoires d'outre-mer (Over Seas of Memory, translated by Martin Munro) [an English translation will be provided]. This work is based loosely on the author’s life and recounts the narrator’s journey following in the footsteps of his Mauritius-born grandfather, Maxime, who abruptly boarded a boat bound for Madagascar in 1922 and never returned.

Understanding Displacement in Ukraine: Interdisciplinary Perspectives - International Workshop

The Institute for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies is pleased to host the 2024 fellows Prof. Lucia Carminati and Dr Xiaoyue Li. Dr Li will lecture on ‘Finance, Technology, and Politics in Egyptian Railways during the reign of Abbas Hilmi II’; Prof. Carminati will lecture on ‘Egypt’s Borders and their Crossers, 1875-1937’, and Dr Lamprakis will lecture on ‘Mohamed Ali Pasha’s waqfiyyah and his endowment as a testimony to his indissoluble bond with his motherland Kavala’.
